Grab the Gold Protein Bars

small in size, big in satisfaction

I admit it, as a busy mom of 3 kids, I tend to grab easy pre-package bars and snacks for an on-the-go snack or to send as a snack at school.  Admitting it was the first step, finding a healthy, yet delicious solution was step two.  A friend of mine told me about energy protein bars called “Grab the Gold”, so I decided to order a box and give them a try.

It took just a few days for my package to arrive from Tennessee, and I couldn’t wait to try one!  The bars looked smaller than I had anticipated, but I was presently surprised to find the bars were delicious, moist and filling.  My husband is notorious for skipping breakfast and relying on coffee to get him through until lunchtime, so the following morning I gave him a bar (with his coffee, of course).  My husband works from home, so in between conference calls, he came into the kitchen and asked what the bar was and to weigh in on his “treat”.  He agreed that the Grab the Gold bar was “really good” and sustained him until lunch.  This made me happy, because moms know how important breakfast is, we read it over and over again, right?

Next was the product review from my three kids.  Could I successfully sneak in a healthy treat for pas it off for a snack?  Upon school pick up and on our drive home we discussed the day’s happenings, plus I asked, “How was that new bar I sent to school”?  Kids thought that it was great!  The boys agreed that the peanut butter chocolate taste was “yummy” and my daughter just remembered the chocolate, a girl after my own heart.  I was thrilled.  Not only was I satisfying their taste, but a healthy alternative to other name brand bars on the market.

I’m sure you want to know the nitty-gritty.  The Grab the Gold protein snack bar is gluten free, has no high fructose corn syrup, no preservatives, 0g trans fat, dairy free, began and contains 7g high fiber.  The GTG bars contain organic non-GMO oats and soy flour; it also contains peanuts soy and corn for those with allergies or sensitivity.   One 2 ounce bar has just 193 calories and will keep you full for hours.  I now keep one in my purse for post workout fuel, and keep handy for the kids and my hubby.

Grab the Gold energy bars were created by Danielle Ontiveros.  Danielle was just 16 when she began developing a healthy snack alternative and has continued to perfect the bar over the years.   She was originally based in New Orleans, Louisiana but lost her home in Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  She relocated to Franklin, Tennessee where she now lives and manufactures the product.  She has successfully grown the Grab the Gold product over the last 20 years and is available online and at various retailers around the country.
