Grand Re-Opening of Cloth & Metal at The OC Mix

I was so excited when the opportunity came up to attend the Grand Re-Opening of Cloth & Metal! First of all, I absolutely love spending any free time at SoCo and the OC Mix. If you haven’t had a opportunity to check it out, it’s the destination for inspiration with an amazing eclectic gathering of stores. You will easily fall in love with the boutiques and studios and Cloth & Metal is one of them!

When you step inside Cloth & Metal you walk into a modern display of what a men’s store should be – a single destination for men of all ages, budgets, and interests. You can find wooden body surfing hand paddles, jeans, shaving lotions, and headphones in one stop!

Personally, I think that’s pretty awesome. The new layout and re-design provides a better shopping experience to customers and as you can see from the picture, it’s not only inviting, but there is space to sit and enjoy your time and really experience the products they have to offer. With 1400 square feet, they are now the largest store in the OC Mix!

I think the shaving station might just be my favorite part of the whole store. The design is very inviting and comfortable and it feels like you are in your own bathroom (minus the strangers walking behind you). Cloth & Metal really hit the nail on the head with this re-design. Not only is the store larger, but the layout is minimalist and clean. All of the products are perfectly displayed and it’s easy to find what you are looking for. Plus, they are now able to stock up on great brands like Jack Black, Imperial Barber Products and Portland General Store for all your grooming needs.

After you’ve picked your grooming products, it’s time to head into the fabulous selection of clothing, aka- the “Cloth” part of the store! And when I say fabulous, I mean brands like Vince, Grayers, Parker Dusseau, 7 Diamonds, Almond Surf, Cole Haan, Hudson Jeans, some of the most popular brands for clothing and shoes on the market today. Whether you like that laid back surfing style or you want something a little more progressive, Cloth & Metal has you covered – literally!

I was able to briefly speak with the owner, Scott Sablan about his vision behind Cloth & Metal and he told me that not only do they have relationships with every brand in the store, but they carefully choose the brands they offer and they all represent the same values that Cloth & Metal have – to bring superior quality to the everyday buyer with an affordable flair. Most of the brands at Cloth & Metal are ones that you might be familiar with, but with a selection that you can’t get by going to a department store.

For all of the music fanatics out there, THIS is the store to be at! You will find an incredible selection of low and high end stereo equipment like headphones, receivers, and vintage inspired speakers. Don’t forget to stop by the headphone bar and experience some of the world’s best headphones before you leave!

There is something for everyone at Cloth & Metal – from both the veteran and novice audiophiles they are now offering Grado Labs headphones, one of the oldest family owned companies in the audio industry and one of the leaders in design for the high-end audio and recording industries. So if you are looking to spend a little or a lot, the quality and selection at Cloth & Metal is unsurpassed!

During the Grand re-opening of the event, The Mixing Glass and Noble Ale Works, offered libations where 10% with the I Am Culinary Center #teamiam.

If you are still looking for a great gift for Father’s Day, there’s no time to waste! Cloth & Metal is open everyday this week from 10AM – 8PM and any of their staff will be able to help you find the perfect gift. I personally think the Librations Loop Wireless Speakers are a great buy and they come in different sizes and colors that any dad would be thrilled to have. They also stock speciality items like essential oil candles from a local shop in Laguna Beach, luggage tags, iPhone cases, flavored toothpicks, leather chairs, and yes, even that cool bike hanging on the wall behind the register is for sale too!

If you’re not quite sure where to start for Father’s Day, and you want to give a unique gift for dad, head on over to Cloth & Metal’s blog and see their recommendations, but I highly recommend that you visit the store in person at:
