Green Feast Chef Lunch at The Ecology Center

The Green Feast is one of the biggest events of the year focused on raising awareness of the #1 issue in our community – conservation and sustainability. Late last month, I attended an exclusive chef luncheon with all of the top chefs in Orange County who are coming together to participate in the Green Feast on September 12th at The Ecology Center.

During the luncheon, all of the chefs came together to share tips they have learned on making their restaurants more sustainable. While the chefs were sharing tips there was a lot of discussion on the importance of composting, water conservation and food waste. Along with sharing tips, all of the chef’s worked together to swap recipe ideas and thoughts on what to create for the Green Feast dinner.

Once we were done discussing the event, we all enjoyed lunch made with all locally sourced ingredients and toured The Ecology Center.

The Green Feast is the one event that you’re not going to want to miss, and all of the money raised helps to fund The Ecology Center that plays a key role in educating our community and bringing people together towards creating a healthy and sustainable future of all of us.

The event will happen in the gardens of The Ecology Center at a long communal table under twinkling lights. All of the menu items served will be made with food sourced locally within 250 miles of the Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano.

The chefs include Patrick Glennon with Santa Monica Seafood, Rich Mead of Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens, Steve Kling of Five Crowns/Side Door, Greg Daniels of Haven Gastropub, Paul Buchanan of Primal Alchemy, David Pratt of Brick Pizzeria, Ryan Adams of 370 Common/The North Left, Cathy McKnight, John Cuevas of Waterman’s Harbor, and Kerri Cacciata of Local Tastes Better.

In addition, many of OC’s distinguished chefs will join Green Feast to demonstrate their culinary skills is an eco-appetizer challenge: Raj Dixit of Stonehill Tavern at St. Regis, Cathy Pavlos of LUCCA and Provenance, Debra Sims of Maro Wood Grill, Michael Doctulero of Scott’s Seafood, Eric Samaniego of Little Sparrow, Pascal Olhats of Pascal’s, Rob Wilson of Montage, Joe Magnanelli, Brent Omeste, and Chad Urata of Cucina Enoteca, and Jeffrey Boullt of Social.

Green Feast individual tickets will be available at the beginning of July for $250 for members and $300 for non-members. Membership starts at $50 for a full year of benefits. For more information about tickets, membership and benefits, please go to TheEcologyCenter.org.
