Guide to 2014 Irvine Park Railroad Christmas Train

We visited as a guest of the Irvine Park Railroad

The Irvine Park Railroad has transformed into a winter wonderland this holiday as a train brings families to the “North Pole” to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. There is holiday fun for everyone in the family this year including the newest addition of a tree lot where families can bring a Christmas tree home to decorate for the holiday season. When planning a trip to the Irvine Park Railroad Christmas Train this year, purchase your tickets in advance online, and then use this guide to get the most out of your visit to the park this year.

Train Rides
Your family will board a train adorned with lights and decorations to the “North Pole.” While on the train your family can sing-along to classic holiday songs while admiring the beautiful lights throughout the park. Upon arrival at the “North Pole” Santa awaits your children’s arrival. There is hot chocolate and cookies available for purchase while your family waits in line to have personal time with Santa Claus. Recommendations: The line can get long for Santa so I recommend doing the train before the other activities at the park. While there are pictures available for purchase, they do allow families to take their own photos so bring a camera to capture those special memories. I also recommend having your children write a letter to Santa before visiting so they can give it to Santa.

Complimentary Activities:

Story Time with Mrs. Claus
At the train station, Mrs. Claus, is waiting for children to have a holiday story time. Your children can listen to all of their favorite holiday books read to them by Mrs. Claus.

Frosty’s Maze
Your family will laugh and giggle while running together through the twists and turns of this holiday hay maze. Who will be the first one in your family to find their way out? You’ll have to come try it to see!

Photo Opportunties
Surrounding the train station are multiple places to capture your memories from visiting the Irvine Park Railroad. There are fun themed picture stands to take photos, and also the Christmas tree farm that makes a great backdrop for your holiday pictures.

Christmas Coloring Corner
Forgot your list for Santa? Don’t worry. Children can write their list to Santa before heading to the North Pole or color a picture at the Christmas coloring corner.

Ticketed Activities (all activities are 1 tickets each):

Ice Fishing
Grab a fishing pole and try to catch some fish during this fun interactive game. Once your children are done catching all the fish out of the ice they will receive a prize for participating. Don’t worry..everybody who plays wins a prize.

Cookie Decorating
Your children can unleash their creativity by decorating a giant cookie. They will provide the cookie, icing and decorations…all your kids need to bring is a hungry tummy and their imagination. If you have children with food allergies the cookies do contain wheat, gluten, soy, sulphite, tartrazine food color, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, and eggs. Keep that in mind before decorating, and ask the staff if you have any questions.

Carnival Games
Bean bag toss and ring toss are the fun holiday games this year. Children can participate in both games where everyone who plays will win a fun prize.

Bounce House
Children can bounce their hearts out inside of the Santa themed bounce house. Each jumper gets 10 minutes of jumping time per ticket.
