Guide to Fisherman’s Cove Laguna Beach

Fisherman's Cove Laguna Beach

It’s Memorial Day weekend, and time to hit the beach! We started our weekend off at one of our favorite small beaches – Fisherman’s Cove in Laguna Beach. Multiple private ocean front properties have private staircases that lead down to this intimate cove, and we are happy to share a guide to visiting with your family.

Fisherman's Cove Laguna Beach

Like most intimate beaches in Laguna, it is not easy to find Fisherman’s Cove. It is just one beach over from Crescent Bay Beach along Cliff Drive. Here is an image of the intersection off of PCH that will help guide you down to this beach. Just turn down this intersection, make a quick left, and when you see the small section of parking spaces – you have found it! When you park the car, don’t go down the staircase right in front of the parking spaces – this is the main beach. Look to the right and you will see a second staircase in-between a home and a condo complex that brings you down to Fisherman’s Cove.

As your family goes down the staircase, once you walk around the bend, you will find paradise. (as a reminder that all shells and sealife may not be removed from this beach.)

What to do

Fisherman's Cove Laguna Beach

This is the perfect beach for body surfing, SUP, kayaks and boogie boarding. There is also a large tide pool area, and we were lucky to have seen some of the most amazing starfish there this weekend.

No again. Keep a watchful eye on your kiddos, and make sure and not go too far out on the tide pool rocks.

So many of them. This beach has a lot of little caves along the beach that children can explore. There is always shade since it is such a small beach which is just another reason why we love it here.

Get here early. There is limited parking. Bring quarters just in case you are lucky enough to get a metered space.

What to bring

Quarters for the meters, sunscreen, hats, swim gear, towels and everything you need for fun. Pack light since there is not a ramp to get down to the beach.

We hope that your family has fun exploring Fisherman Cove this weekend!
