Guide to Woods Cove Beach in Laguna Beach

Woods Cove Laguna Beach

Woods Cove Beach in Laguna Beach is the BEST beach for snorkeling. Whenever I visit this beach with my husband and kids, we always take turns to snorkel around the reef’s in the beautiful turquoise water. Not only is it the best beach for snorkeling, it also has some of the most clearest visibility along the coast. Woods Cove Beach is a great family beach that offers a little bit of something for everyone in your family.

Where is it located?
Woods Cove Beach is right next to Moss Point Beach and Ruby Street Park at the corner of Diamond and PCH (there is a light at this intersection). There is parking along PCH, and also throughout the neighborhood. This beach does not get much more traffic than the houses surrounding it, so parking is usually a breeze.

Tell me about the beach.
Like I said, it is great for snorkeling. You do not have to go out any further than the wave break to see some spectacular fish. When coming down the staircase the beach is divided into two coves. Most families go to the right of the staircase for the best swimming. (most skimboarders hang out on the left).

Insider tip
When the tide is low..there is a ton to explore! Plan to come on a low tide day for the kids to explore the different tunnels and caves located throughout this beach. There are also small tide pools to the far right of the beach that become easily accessed and visible at low tide.

  1. This beach looks perfect! I would love to visit it! We are looking for a snorkeling beach to get our kids ready for Hawaii!

  2. This beach looks like the perfect place to have a great time and make some memories.

  3. Hi this looks like a great spot to take my little ones. Just wondering…are there restrooms close by? Even if not on the beach, but close?

    • There are not any bathrooms. There is Marow Wood Grill just one block away, and a small market across the street =)

  4. How far is this from Anaheim? We are doing a Disney Trip with the kiddos and are planning on some beach days…since I’m a beach gal. It does look kind of small, does it get real crowded?

    • It is about a 20 minute drive from Anaheim. It is a locals beach – so there won’t be too many people. Have fun!

  5. I tried to google the direction an had no luck 🙁 Can you please provide directions from Anaheim? Thank you for sharing.
