New ‘Healthy’ Natural Hälth Spa in Newport Beach

We visited as a guest of the spa

Like many women, I’m sure you’ve looked at the labels of beauty products. You’ve seen words that you not only can’t pronounce, but you’re not quite sure what’s in the product…exactly.

I’ve learned over the years that many of the ingredients in beauty products can be toxic to our bodies. But what is the alternative?

Unfortunately, there’s really no difference in toxic products when it comes to the nail and spa salons either. I often feel we are at the mercy of whatever chemical products are used by salon owners. Which is why I was happy to hear about the new Hälth Spa in Newport Beach.

Hälth (which means health) describes itself as a “eco spa and store, an upscale innovative natural and organic treatment destination, carrying a line of five-free polishes that are natural, water or soy based, natural skin care lines, and mineral makeup. Inclusive of a retail boutique that includes an assortment of accessories and home goods along with natural nail and body treatments.”

Curious about this amazing sounding establishment, my daughter and I had the opportunity to have a much-needed mani/pedi date time recently at Hälth Spa.

We were warmly greeted by Hälth Owner and Creator Heather Joseph and her staff. During our visit, Joseph explained the simplicity of the Hälth Spa concept that was inspired by European rustic luxury rejuvenation based on embracing the simplicity of natural living during her extensive overseas travel.

Not only did Joseph want to bring a taste of this European natural living to Orange County, there’s a unique twist to her business model. Philanthropy is at the core of her business. All of the products used have a corporate connection to a charitable cause, and each retail item purchased is intended to give back.

As the mother of a five-year-old boy, Joseph is also passionate about providing a healthy environment and resources for families, which is another reason she opened Hälth Spa. There is even a dedicated children’s treatment room for those under age 12.

“The idea is to provide a chemical free, vegan friendly, eco natural health spa where the entire family can feel safe,” she explains.

During our treatments, the subdued natural, earth tones and contemporary rustic atmosphere transported us to a relaxing, European-style salon thousands of miles away.

Before we left, my daughter  purchased a bracelet that benefitted fighting breast cancer. In the car, she explained how “good” she felt – inside and out.

I did too.

So, check out Hälth Spa on Eastbluff Drive, Suite 204 Newport Beach, CA 92660. Call 949-612-7038 for an appointment.
