Healthy Family Cooking with Sprouted Kitchen
We attended as a guest of Sprouted Kitchen
We had the enormous pleasure of participating in a recent cookbook launch and tasting for “The Sprouted Kitchen” by Sara Forte, her second book to what we hope is one of many to be published. A lovely event hosted by 503found located in Newport Beach & The Hood Kitchen Space was so kind in preparing recipes from Sara’s book for all of us to enjoy. Wow! These three clearly collaborated together for this evening as it was a perfect blend of each; creating a natural, elegant and healthy affair.
Sara is a sweet, kind and engaging author who gave her time; turning the pages of her book featuring delicious recipes for all to enjoy. A mother herself with a beautiful talent for creating healthy dishes to share with all of us. Her focus is on using whole foods and she incorporates a variety of seasonal produce. If you are looking to add a new cookbook to your collection, I strongly recommend you take a peek at “The Sprouted Kitchen”; I already have favorites that I will be trying with those who gather around my table. First up will be her Ranchero Breakfast Tostada; with black beans, avocado, cilantro, green onion, cumin and a few other ingredients topped on a corn tortilla finished off with an egg over easy. My guests are sure to have smiles when this is placed before them.
The Hood Kitchen Space prepared the following from Sara’s collection for us on this beautiful evening; Chunky Eggplant Dip with Pita, Lentil Tapenade with Crostini, Marrakesh Carrots and Almond Meal Coconut Cookies. All of which were delicious! Keep in mind, I’m not usually a big fan of cooked carrots but these will have me eating them again as well as my family! Yum!
503found allowed for all of us to mingle in what felt like Sara’s home. Quaint seating areas throughout with lovely items to purchase. Do take the time to visit sometime, it’s quite lovely and a great place to find unique furnishings & gifts.
If your like me, yearning to incorporate new, healthy whole dishes in your meal; I strongly suggest picking up “The Sprouted Kitchen”. You can lose yourself in Sara’s beautiful book and be inspired with new dishes to share with those around your table. After all, family, friends and delicious food go very well together! Enjoy!
