Help Teen Girls Get Their ‘Sparkle On’ for Prom

Teenage girls anticipate this one special event all year long. No, it’s not a spring break trip. Not a summer excursion. Think sparkling dresses, slow dances and punch.

You guessed it…prom. Like me, you’re a “tad bit” past the age of corsages, over-the-top hair dos and heels that cause your feet to ache for days. Also like me, you probably have a few gently used formal dresses just collecting dust in your closet. If so, you can help teen girls from Olive Crest attend the prom in style by participating in the Second Annual Sparkle & Share in-store dress drive. Bring your gently worn bridesmaid, cocktail and evening gowns to Robbins Brothers now through Sunday, April 27.

Robbins Brothers in Glendale and Fullerton will host special parties in celebration of Sparkle & Share on Saturday, April 19, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Guests will drop off dresses, enjoy desserts, and interact directly with representatives from Olive Crest, a local non-profit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse, treating and educating at-risk children, and preserving the family.

“It is always our pleasure and priority to give back to the community,” said CarolAnne Stevenson, director, brand experience and marketing, Robbins Brothers. “We are excited to partner with Olive Crest for the second year in a row by enlisting the help of our customers to help these young ladies shine.”

According to William Bedrossian, executive director, Olive Crest, Southern California region, “Prom is just one of many important experiences Olive Crest is committed to providing our youth, and the generosity of Robbins Brothers and its customers will ensure our teen girls have a beautiful and memorable night.”

Patrons can drop off dresses at any of the seven Robbins Brothers locations in Southern California during normal business hours, and will be entered for a chance to win a beautiful diamond jewelry gift (one raffle ticket per dress donation).

So, share your gently used dresses with an at-risk teenage girl today. I guarantee she’ll be sure to sparkle and shine during this special night. And, you just might  shine a little inside too.
