The Holidays Set Sail at The Queen Mary

We attended as a guest of the venue

We know the Queen Mary is a stunning jewel all on her own but during Christmas it becomes a timeless holiday experience. With the sprinkling of Christmas cheer throughout from bow to stern. As you stroll the hallways and decks, drinking in the history of the majestic ship you are entertained by familiar songs from Caroler’s, spunky Bell Hops and cheerful interactions with Mrs. Claus.

You can leisurely take your time exploring both the ship and discover all of the Christmas activities available to you. Visit the Gingerbread Village where you build your own sweet home; or the Stocking Shop and let the creativity shine though while creating your stocking to hang on the mantle. Mrs. Claus will delight your little ones as they gather round with hot chocolate to hear their favorite Christmas stories.

Need a moment to relax? Venture off to the 4D Theater and take in the Polar Express. Really, when was the last time you watched a movie aboard a historic ship? It’s quite fun!

Continue your holiday sailing at sea experience by booking time to have Breakfast with Santa, enjoy a Three Course Dinner with the American Bombshells that belt out a great Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy or the classic Santa Claus is Coming to Town. It will transport you to that nostalgic era and promises to entertain; you may even find yourself tapping away to the tunes like us.

Now, we always have to say hello to Santa! We love the big guy; plus he’s so attentive, listens to our wants and we love all the joy and laughter he shares with everyone. So make sure you and your little ones visit Santas Captain’s Quarters where he’ll be ready to take photos and hear what’s on those wish lists.

Definitely take in the lighting of the Christmas Tree on the bow as it synchronizes to holiday music: it’s beautiful and you can even see the amazing skyline of downtown Long Beach in the distance. After head up to True North Ice Rink at he top deck of the ship. Lace up your ice skates, grab your family and friends and glide around under the evening sky.

Christmas is the time of year where we need to make sure to take the extra time to play, be a kid and create memories with those we love. You’ll find Christmas on the Queen Mary can be nostalgic, fun and you may even learn a bit of history. Keep you eye out though Santa or Mrs. Claus might peer out and surprise you just when you begin getting to serious. Go have fun!
