How to Make Zootopia Pawsicles

One of our favorite scenes from the film Zootopia was when Nick Wilde made “pawsicles” and sold them to the hamsters. My kids laughed hysterically during that scene in the movie. With Zootopia coming out on Blu-ray and DVD on June 7th, I got started right away planning an epic Zootopia themed outdoor summer movie night complete with homemade pawsicles and Zootopia candy bark.
We were fortunate enough to get an advanced copy of the film, so we surprised some of our closest friends with a pre-summer Zootopia outdoor movie night. All our kid’s friends couldn’t wait to come over and see their favorite movie again.
Everyone brought their blankets, pillows and arrived in their pj’s for the movie. The minute that the pawsicle scene came on in the film, I paused the movie and brought our pawsicles for all of the kids. The kids squealed with delight, and they all loved getting to lick their own pawsicle along with the hamsters in the movie.
How do you make them? It is super easy. Multiple stores sell a silicone Yunko Set of 2 Homemade Silicone Cute Ice Pop Molds Popsicle Molds Ice Trays Ice Cream Maker (Paw and Cat)paw popsicle mold on Amazon. I was able to get my mold for less than $10 (including shipping). The mold makes two pawsicles at a time, so you’ll want to start making them a couple of days before your movie night.
To make them “red,” I filled the mold with red Hawaiian Punch. You can use any red drink that you want to fill-up the molds, and your kids are guaranteed to love it!!
Have fun making pawsicles this summer for your kids while watching Zootopia and don’t forget to purchase your blu-ray copy of Zootopia starting on June 7th, and you can pre-order it online today!
