Hurricane Harvey OC Dining Fundraising Events

As we follow the Hurricane Harvey news coverage, we are all concerned for the people of Texas and the tremendous devastation they have suffered from the hurricane, historic rains and flooding that continue to wreak destruction and affect lives throughout South Texas.

Families can help those affected by Hurricane Harvey by attending one of these OC restaurant dining fundraising events.

BoD Pop-Up benefiting Houston Flood Relief

With much of Houston facing incredible flooding in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Break of Dawn in Laguna Hills will be hosting a benefit dinner, MEAT ME IN TEXAS, for Houston flood relief at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 23rd.

The restaurant, which serves breakfast and lunch, will host this special pop-up dinner for $200 per guest with 100% of the ticket price donated to charities helping those in Houston and surrounding areas who are suffering from the massive storm.

Break of Dawn Chef/Owner Dee Nguyen will be joined by fellow local OC Chefs and sponsor Sysco, who has pledged to match every dollar raised from the 66-seat dinner. Other sponsors include Dean Kim from OC Baking Company, Tarit Tanjasiri from Crema Cafe, and Terrace Hill Olive Oil.

The MEAT ME IN TEXAS pop-up dinner is limited to 66 guests and tickets are being sold for $200 per seat. Those interested in attending can email Chef Dee Nguyen directly at [email protected]

Bayside Restaurant, the critically acclaimed Newport Beach restaurant, will hold a month-long fundraiser benefiting victims of Hurricane Harvey. Executive Chef Paul Gstrein has crafted a special menu available through September with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for those impacted by the storm. Bayside also will accept checks and other forms of payment for the American Red Cross/Hurricane Harvey fund. Bayside owner Marc Ghoukassian said that many of his staff have friends and family living in the Houston area who have been displaced from their homes and are in need of help.

Bayside is a contemporary dining establishment overlooking the tranquil waters of Newport Harbor. Gstrein has crafted an extensive award-winning menu emphasizing fresh seafood. The 246-seat restaurant features design elements that showcase an ever-evolving fine art exhibition and the interior offers favorable lighting, state-of-the-art acoustics and a generous use of Macassar ebony, a rare wood from Indonesia. The wrap-around patio comes with built-in heaters and sun drapes and its large windows offer breathtaking views of the harbor. Live entertainment is offered nightly and during Champagne Sunday brunch in the bar/lounge and on Fridays, from 10 p.m. to midnight, live jazz and a dedicated small plates menu are offered.
