Chatting with Joey King as ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ Released Today on Blu-ray and DVD

Joey King Oz

Disney’s “Oz the Great and Powerful” is officially available on Blu-ray and DVD today, June 11th!

We were able to sit down with Joey King, China Girl, yesterday at The London West Hollywood to talk about the film.  One thing is for certain, Joey King truly enjoyed everything about making “Oz the Great and Powerful”.  From her cast mates to filming a CG character, “Oz the Great and Powerful” is one of her favorite projects.

Joey King’s favorite part of “Oz the Great and Powerful” will probably make sense to those who have seen the movie.  The scene where China Girl and Oz part ways in the movie is prominent for King and the scene portrays their connection perfectly.

King celebrated two birthdays while filming Oz and it was inspiring to see someone so young be deeply passionate about the work she does.  As a mom, I have great respect for how Joey King balances this passion with being a young actor.   She loves her shopping and Ugg boots just like any teenager and lets her bubbly personality shine…but she works hard and reaches for her dreams.   And in case you were curious, King just got her first pair of Ugg boots in a teal blue color.  🙂

Did you know that Joey King had a role in the beginning of “Oz the Great and Powerful” as well?  She played a little girl in a wheelchair who asked the wizard if he could make her walk…Joey doesn’t look like “Joey” in this role though so you may have to go back to take a second look.

Disney’s “Oz the Great and Powerful” is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.  Are you going to add it to your home movie collection?
