Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch Through the Eyes of a Teenager

We visited as a guest of Irvine Park

I have been going to the Irvine Park Railroad since I was a baby. Irvine Park Railroad is one of my favorite family traditions. Now that my brother and I are older, our friends ask us, “Do you guys still enjoy going to Irvine Park Railroad?” Well, let me give you the most straightforward answer…YES! Just because we are teenagers does not mean we don’t love panning for gold and decorating our own cookies. In fact, when we know that a holiday is coming up, we jump at the chance to go to Irvine Park Railroad.

I know a lot of the activities they have at the park seem like they would only be appealing to toddlers and younger children, but adults forget that teenagers are kids too and probably wouldn’t mind some sibling competition over who has the best aim for ring toss. My brothers and I love some friendly competition every once in a while.

Not only do they have fun carnival games, but some of their activities are meant for older kids such as panning for gold or pumpkin decorating. Of course, younger kids could still do these, but older ones can certainly get more creative in the pumpkin decorating area. Another tradition that my family has kept forever is picking out the perfect pumpkin, and now that we are all older we are so much better at looking for the perfect one (primarily because we can pick them up now.)

This year, we decided to bring our grandparents along. We had so much fun going through the spooky haunted house and eating popcorn while walking around and talking with our grandparents. Even they enjoyed playing some of the fun games. Even though we are too old to drive the mini john deer tractors or bounce in the bouncy houses, there are about 100 other things to do that bring the whole family joy.

It is all just proof on how Irvine Park Railroad has no age limit. It is fun for all ages (including teenagers,) so when buying tickets to make sure not to leave your teenagers out. Trust me; they will thank you for it later. Trust me when I say there is not a better way to start the holiday season than with bringing the whole family to Irvine Park Railroad for some spooky fun.
