Keeping Your Produce Fresher Longer

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Rubbermaid®

I have a huge outdoor garden where I grow fruits and vegetables and every week I go to our local farmer’s market to get organic and the freshest produce available for our family. The only struggle with purchasing produce from farmer’s markets is that it does not last as long as the produce filled with GMO’s & chemicals in our local grocery stores. I have been on the hunt for a solution to helping make our weekly produce stay fresh throughout the entire week, and I finally discovered it with Rubbermaid’s FreshWorks Produce Saver.

Since we were spending the weekend in Carlsbad this past weekend, my husband made a stop at one of our favorite local farm stands in Oceanside called Cyclops Farms. Since we were not going to bring the produce home until Sunday afternoon, we were even more worried about the produce staying fresh, so we put it all in Rubbermaid FreshWorks containers.

The FreshWorks containers have a crisp tray at the bottom to help keep the produce away from moisture and to promote airflow to help prevent spoilage. I got three different sized containers that had plenty of space for our weekly fruits and veggies. What I loved most about the containers is that it has a FreshVent lid that has a patented membrane that naturally regulates the flow of 02 and CO2 to create the optimal environment to keep your produce fresh. The only thing that I wish the product had – was being made out of glass. Having an eco-friendly home, I am always worried about our food touching plastic, but it is BPA free.

Overall, the product has been fantastic. I plan to purchase more containers to hold more of our produce next week, and everything has stayed as fresh as the day we bought it at the farm stand.

They recommend for best results to no cut or rinse produce before storing in the FreshWorks containers. Learn more about the Rubbermaid FreshWorks containers online. Share your favorite photos using the product on social media with the hashtag #FreshWorksFreshness.
