Knott’s ‘Merry’ Farm Tree Lighting

We attended the event as a guest of Knott’s

We kicked off the holiday season this year at a very special tree lighting as Knott’s Berry Farm became transformed into Knott’s Merry Farm. The evening of the tree lighting, I picked up my daughter from school, and we went to Knott’s Berry Farm for a lovely mother and daughter night out.

When we first arrived, we went to Santa’s Christmas Cabin to visit with Santa. My daughter sat next to Santa and whispered all her Christmas wishes into his ear. After visiting Santa, we walked around and did a little holiday shopping at the Christmas Crafts Village. Throughout Ghost Town are many vendors selling handmade crafts that make the perfect holiday gifts.

Then the time had come for the giant tree located in the heart of Knott’s Berry Farm to be lit for the first time this holiday season. Everyone visiting Knott’s Berry Farm gathered in the center of Calico Park and awaited the big moment.

Once the sun had gone down, the event began with the Little Chapel Bell Choir singing Christmas carols. Everyone in the audience sang along to their favorite holiday songs and got into the Christmas spirit. It was an extraordinary evening for many local children as Knott’s Berry Farm had invited 15 chapters of the Boys and Girls Club Orange County to attend the event.

The tree lighting would not be complete with the arrival of Santa Claus! All of the peanuts gang joined Santa on the stage as he wished everyone a happy holiday season. Right before the big moment, two children from the Boys and Girls Club were welcomed up to the stage to place a magical ornament on the Christmas Tree right before all the lights came on the glorious tree.

After the tree lighting, we enjoyed some holiday treats and dinner with friends. Once our dinner had ended, we walked through Ghost Town to experience the Snow and Glow experience that happens every hour nightly during Merry Farm.

Before going home for the evening, we watched the It’s the Merriest Christmas Show Ever, Charlie Brown at the Calico Mine Stage. It was the perfect ending to a perfect evening at Knott’s Merry Farm.

Don’t miss bringing your family to experience the magic of the holiday season at Knott’s Merry Farm happening now until January 6th. Tickets are available online.
