Laguna Playhouse Aladdin and his Winter Wish

We visited as a guest of the venue

Growing up with a rich theater life and now going to school that revolves around theater I have now become a little theater critic. Every play or musical I go to see, I love to think in my head “what could’ve been better” or “what was so good about it.” When I went to see Aladdin and His Winter Wish at the Laguna Playhouse the whole time I was just thinking “wow!”

Aladdin has always been one of my favorite Disney Princess movies and putting that into a theatrical production where they mix up the whole story was a little bit scary for me, but the story they created and the characters they added had just the right touch to make this the best version of Aladdin. I have only ever been to one other pantomime in my life, and they are honestly something I want to keep seeing.

Another thing that made the musical super magical for me is that it had one of my favorite Nickelodeon stars; Kira Kosarin, who starred on the show ‘The Thundermans.’ She played the role of Jasmine in Aladdin’s Winter Wish, and I don’t think they could’ve found a better person the portray the part of the loveable Disney princess. They also added some extra characters that just brought the story to life even more including Wishy Washy and Aladdin’s mother!

Throughout the whole play, I was laughing hystarically. Either someone was making cheesy puns, doing funny dances or interacting with an audience member. My dad and I were laughing in our seats for almost the entire show! There were so many funny sound effects, and funny songs that they would have the audience sing.

Aladdin’s Winter Wish plays at Laguna Beach Playhouse for a limited time until December 31st, so I recommend going as soon as you can. This show is one for the little ones, so make sure to bring them along. The gift of theater is a great gift to give someone this holiday season. I know I would want to receive tickets to this show.
