The Lego Batman Movie Days at LegoLand

We visited as a guest of the venue

As a mom of a superhero-loving son and daughter, I am well aware of all things that are superheroes.  Before my son became the guru of superheroes, I was the one that knew when the newest movie, toy, and event were happening.

My children would marvel in my knowledge and ‘oh’ and ‘ah’ with each discovery (that might be an exaggeration, but it’s my story, and I am sticking to it!).  Sadly those days had long passed me until I got the invitation from Legoland for The Lego Batman Movie Days.

For two weekends (February 18-19 and 25-26) you and your little superhero can experience the ultimate Lego Batman experience filled with photo opportunities with Batman, Lego Batman inspired activities and a scavenger hunt on top of all the other fun and food that Legoland has to offer.

Last weekend, my family and I drove straight into the fun and truly experienced all things, Batman.  Before we got into the fun, Legoland is expanding and will soon have a Castle Themed Hotel!  I can’t wait to see it completed.  Be sure to get a peak before you enter the park.

As we entered the gates, we made a beeline for anything Black, yellow or really really dark gray.  Our first stop was the Miniland Scavenger Hunt: The Villians have escaped!  We got our entry form and went to Miniland to find the missing letters and scramble the clue.  Now, I’m not going to spoil the fun and give you the answer, but what I do recommend is for those who need glasses and refuse to wear them, the wear them!

Throughout Miniland, villains are strategically placed in various city landmarks holding up itty bitty tile letters.  Find the letters, descramble the words, and enter to win a prize (keyword itty bitty so bring your glasses).  The kids and I were going the distance and had fun trying to descramble the word.

After our race to win ‘aka’ scavenger hunt, we met the big man himself, the numero uno dark knight, Lego Batman and going to use the picture for our 2017 holiday card!

Next up on our Lego Batman fun day was Build & Test Your Own Batmobile.  Now, I try to say I’m not competitive but seriously I’m am, and my family will be the first to agree.  There is seriously something wrong with a grown 40-year-old woman who insists on building a Batmobile in hopes of winning a #1 red flag.  What is worse is when said the crazy woman comes in lasts and cries uncontrollably when the 5-year-old master builder wins.  Yeah, that was me; I’m not proud of it and am looking for support groups.

My husband insisted on going to the next activity – The Mystery Mosaic Lego Build.  We made bricks to put on the mosaic. We got so busy exploring more of Legoland that we forgot to come back to see it complete. If you go this weekend, tag us in a picture on social media so we can see the completed mosaic.

The most fun that my son and I had was helping to build Robin’s cap at the Life Size Lego Character Build.  We built a lot of modules I mean a lot, and we are both so excited to return to see our hard work displayed.

Now the thing about Legoland is that there is so much more to do that just ride rides.  The kids got their STEM on at the lab, my daughter watched her “Friends” perform on the Forever Stage, and my husband and I noshed on Apple Fries (yum).
