The Little Mermaid Live-Action Swims into Theaters

We had a preview of the film

One of my favorite classic tales is the Little Mermaid. I grew up watching the princess movie. A little bit of time ago I had read the original little mermaid tale and realized it was so different than the Disney film. Mermaid movies are probably one of my favorite types of film to watch because I love the ocean so much myself. When I was younger, I used to pretend like I was a mermaid while swimming the sea. My mom showed me the trailer for the new Little Mermaid film, and I wanted to watch it so badly. I even asked her of there was any way we could watch it soon.

We got a digital link to watch the movie so that we could stay in the comfort of our bed. I curled up with my mom and younger brother, and we started the film. The twist on the Disney tale is so unique, and I couldn’t stop watching the new fairytale. The movie was unlike anything I have ever seen before, and I loved following a little girl with a mermaid’s heart on a journey to save a mermaid whose soul belongs to an evil ringmaster.

The twists and turns of this movie are so entertaining, and I was never bored. I also saw my brother staring in awe on how beautiful the mermaid was. The details of her tail and the colors of it were marvelous as she twirled in the water. The story of the mermaid with a stolen soul has been told many times, but none as daring as this one. The film was unlike anything I have ever watched before.

Taking place mostly at a circus it was exciting to see all of the different types of people. There was a woman who could do incredible tricks with her mind and a man who had the strength of three men. And we can’t forget a little mermaid whose water she swam in was considered “healing water” and whose soul was bound to a cruel ringleader.

The Little Mermaid is in theaters Friday, August 17. Make sure to bring the whole family to the this action and adventure mermaid movie.
