Earlier this month, we started celebrating the holidays at a party hosted by Lowe’s and Sassy Mama in LA. We got an opportunity to get tips on how to prepare for the holidays, decorating tips and learned how to make our house sparkle with magic this holiday season. While, at the party, we got a fun tip on how to make a not-so-traditional snowman using tools from Lowe’s. Since we don’t ever see snow where we live in Orange County, we headed to the beach to make this fun sand snowman.

It was the most beautiful day out today with the weather reaching the high 70’s. Since it is hard to get into the Christmas spirit with this unseasonably warm weather, we thought that making our sand snowman today would help put us into the spirit – and into the spirit we became.

We packed a picnic lunch, and headed down to Little Corona beach where the children could help build our sand snowman while exploring a whole new world under the sea at the tide pools. Bucket by bucket we slowly watched our sand snowman grow before getting an opportunity to bring him to life with his top hat and button nose.

It was a day that we created family memories that we’ll never forget. We laughed together while making our own magical Southern California version of a snowman using all the unique accessories from Lowe’s.

Want to make your own sand snowman with your family? It is super fun, and super easy. Load the family into the car, and head to Lowe’s to get all these supplies to get started:
