Mommy Makeover with Morgan at The House Salon
We visited as a guest of the salon
Earlier this year I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease (its name makes it seems far worse than it is). It’s an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid but with medication can go into remission. After a few weeks on medication I noticed that my hair was slow becoming brittle and dry.
After speaking to my doctor she informed me that the medication was correcting my hormone levels and that my hormones were affecting my hair. I’ve had curly/wavy hair most of my life and am use to the dryness, it was the brittle aspect that upset me.
After trying all these online remedies I gave up and decided to see an expert. I’ve never been a girl who loves going to the salon. I’ve never found a stylist that was not only affordable but also took into consideration what I wanted; so basically I’m a hair nomad going from one stylist to the next.
Last week I met Morgan at The House Salon and things just clicked. She is not only skilled at her trade, but she’s also very attentive, listens to what I want, gives suggestions and is also affordable. I didn’t get anything major done this time but since visiting her had a better understand of my hair and what to put on it.
Since my one time visit, my hair has felt more alive and less brittle, plus now I know how to treat and style it. I was so blown away with how my hair looked and felt and such a great visit that immediately booked my daughter for her haircut.
My daughter is very much like me and this would be her second haircut ever.
I trim her hair, but she hasn’t had a hair cut in over 2 (even then it was only done so that she could donate 12 inches to Locks of Love). My daughter immediately took to Morgan.
She felt at ease and talked away giving her input on what she liked to have done.
Before her haircut was complete my son asked if Morgan could cut his hair which was a shocker cause he likes to go to the barber shop. Luckily for him Morgan’s next appointment wasn’t for another hour so once my daughter was done he sat down.
I noticed that unlike a barbershop Morgan cut mainly with scissors and was meticulous.
It was only as the end when she was cleaning the edges that she used a razor.
I honestly think that because of the detail in her work, my son received a much better haircut than at a barbershop and for not that much more in price.
Safe to say that both my kids were totally happy with their new haircuts.
Besides haircuts, Morgan also specialize in hair styling, tape in extensions, color and blowouts.
