Mom’s Day Out at Glen Ivy Hot Springs

We visited as a guest of the venue

Now that the kids are back in school, it is the perfect time to get your girlfriends together for a day of pampering and relaxation at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. This year, I celebrate the back-to-school season by spending a relaxing day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs with one of my dear friends.

We dropped the kids off at school and took the short drive over to Glen Ivy Hot Springs where we would embark on an unforgettable day of healing. When we arrived at Glen Ivy Hot Springs, we put our things into a locker, put on our plush spa robes, and then found two lounge chairs by one of their many pools to spend the day.

Throughout the day, we took our time exploring all of the 19 pools. Our favorites were the mineral baths and mud grotto. We could feel our skin exfoliating and detoxifying as we covered ourselves in mud and then let our body absorb all the good energy while under the warm sun. It was not only healing, but fun to play in a pool full of mud – we felt like kids again.

Before lunch, we took a break from the relaxing pools to experience a Quartz Sand Table massage. The treatment is based on the Ancient Greek practice of psammotherapy. I could feel a sense of renewal as the therapist massaged my aching muscles and joints while my body was cradled by warm sand on the table. It was the most unique and relaxing spa treatments that I have ever experienced and I highly recommend booking a treatment during your day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs.

After our Quartz massage, we went to the cafe for lunch. While we were planning on having a “healthy” lunch, we couldn’t resist trying their highly acclaimed nachos. The nachos lived up to their reputation, and we devoured every bite while reminiscing together about all of our favorite summer memories with the kids. Along with the nachos, we shared the refreshing Mediterranean salad. The salad featured gem lettuce together with diced chunks of herb-marinated farm-raised chicken breast, Kalamata olives, marinated grilled artichoke hearts, piquillo peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, and a parmesan lemon caper vinaigrette – oh my!

We ended our day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs with a visit to The Grotto. The Grotto is a unique skin softening experience in a heated cavern where your body will be painted from neck-to-toe with a warm aloe vera, coconut oil, eucalyptus and lavender masque. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs.

After busy summer keeping the kids entertained, it’s time to treat yourself to a day or zen, healing, and relaxation at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. Call your best girlfriends and plan a date today!
