Morning Yoga at Tenaya Lodge

During my stay at Tenaya Lodge, I woke up early and got to take a morning yoga class. There is literally no better way to start the day than with relaxing your body. Yoga is something that I really enjoy doing to calm my senses and forget about all of the chaos of the real world. When my mom told me I was going to be doing yoga while in Yosemite, I couldn’t wait!
When I got up in the morning, I put on my yoga pants and headed down to Ascent Spa. When I was at the spa, I went to a mat and started doing some easy yoga poses. Once the class had begun, I was in my own little world of yoga. The instructor had us doing basic yoga movements and then as we got a bit further into the class we started doing more complex movements.
During the yoga session, I was following along with the instructor as I learned some new techniques along with practicing some old ones. Once we finished the yoga movements we started stretching our bodies with different tools. We used a small little rope to extend our lower leg, and we also used a supporting block to help us stretch our upper and lower backs.
After about an hour and fifteen minutes of yoga, my body felt relaxed and refreshed. I walked back up to the lobby and had some breakfast. It was the perfect way to start my day, and I couldn’t wait to spend the rest of the day exploring Yosemite Valley with Explore Yosemite Tours.
