Mother’s Day Brunch To-Go in Orange County

Selanne Steak Tavern celebrates Mother’s Day with its crave-worthy gourmet brunch fare available for curbside pick-up on Sunday, May 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Moms can be treated to such sweet and savory dishes as Chicken and Waffles with bourbon maple syrup; “Kevin’s” Bananas Foster French Toast with whipped mascarpone; Monte Cristo with smoked prosciutto, Laura Chenel goat brie and blackberry jam; and Steak Bacon and Eggs with crispy pork belly. Other brunch favorites include: avocado toast with a fried egg, hash browns au gratin, bacon and eggs poutine and a shareable gooey sticky bun. A kids’ menu is also offered.

Mother’s Day Brunch To Go offered by The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is now available for pre-order through Thursday, May 7th and offers the local community the opportunity to treat Mom to a chef-prepared meal with enough to feed the whole family. This delicious brunch can serve up to five guests and includes an impressive charcuterie board, a build-your-own smoked salmon bagel, plus crisp salads, beef short rib, truffle macaroni and cheese, and an assortment of mini desserts. Add a bottle of wine or champagne to complement these savory courses and toast to Mom.

Panini Kabob Grill at Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo has lowered prices on its popular Family Combos, which feed up to six people. A Family Kabob Combo comes with four chicken skewers (substitute flat iron steak, salmon, tofu or other options for a nominal charge), and a choice of salad and rice for $39.95. Riptide Rockin’ Sushi & Teppan Grills at Kaleidoscope, one of South County’s most popular sushi restaurants, is open for take-out with curbside pick-up, their own delivery service or through Doordash or Uber Eats. The Mission Viejo restaurant is offering their entire menu, including sushi, teppan items and cocktails, beer and wine. RTE (Ready to Eat) BBQ, is offering a limited menu for takeout on the weekends (Friday through Sunday) only, via preorders and phone orders before and during 5-8pm. The Capital Grille

A three-course, prix fixe dinner as well as other choices from a special Mother’s Day weekend take-out menu are available.

The dinner includes freshly baked breads, spring salad, entrée choices of whole roasted tenderloin of beef with butter-poached lobster tails or jumbo shrimp scampi-style. Accompaniments are Sam’s mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. For dessert, flourless chocolate espresso cake with a special treat for Mom of house-made lemon tea cookies.

Butcher Shoppe Steaks, cut daily, may be ordered for cooking at home with sides packaged family-style.

Three-course dinner for two, $110-$135 (depending on shellfish selection); dinner for four-six, $195-$245. Will include simple instructions for warming before serving.

Cocktails and Wine: Iconic wines are available for $40 and $60. The Capital Grille’s signature martini for 30 years, Stoli Doli, is available to take home. Serves eight-10, $60.
