Music Comes to Life in Motown the Musical

We visited as a guest of the venue

It has become one of our favorite family traditions to visit The Segerstrom Center for the Arts. From classical ballets to upbeat musicals, my family and I always love going to see performances at the Segerstrom Center. When I learned that Motown the Musical was going to be part this season’s Broadway series, I couldn’t wait for the night when I would get to see the musical.

Before going to the show with my Dad, my Mom and older brother had already been to seen it and could not stop talking about how great it was, which got me even more excited.

My dad has been listening to Motown Music since I was a young child, and I couldn’t wait to experience the story of how Motown Music came to be in Motown the Musical. Throughout the entire show, we were dancing and singing along in our chairs. My Dad and I knew all the words to every song and were happily naming the songs.

The story of Motown the Musical is so powerful and touching. By the end, you just want to hug all of the characters. It is an upbeat show, but also had some more intense moments where it really made me stop and think about things in other perspectives or views. I was very touched by some scenes in the show, and I couldn’t be happier with the feeling that I had when I walked out of the theater. Not only was I feeling the buzz from all the music, but I felt happy knowing that other people were out there making history.

My favorite part of the show is when Diana Ross played by Trencye comes down into the audience and sings with audience members. It really was such a fun time to watch people that weren’t in the show sing along to some of their favorite songs.

Motown the Musical is playing at Segerstrom Center or the Arts until Sunday, December 24, 2017. Make sure to give your loved ones the gift of the theater this holiday season and take them to go see one of the most spectacular shows ever to hit Broadway.

Ps. Don’t miss checking out the hot red all-new Kia Stinger parked in front of the Segerstrom Center! It is one beautiful car!!
