National Family Night Out Festivals

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is hosting four National Family Night Out Festivals in South Orange County. The special events are happening throughout South Orange County with fun, education and more for families to enjoy. We have attended these festivals in the past, and our children have always enjoyed them while we learned important measures for keeping our family protected.

This is the 30th Anniversary of National Night Out, an annual celebration led by the nonprofit National Association of Town Watch. OCSD has robust Neighborhood Watch programs in our contract cities, and National Night Out is a time for the Neighborhood Watch and the entire community to come together to meet their neighbors and learn more about how to protect their neighborhoods. In addition to the National Night Out events, homeowners are encouraged to leave their porch lights on the evening of August 6 in symbolic gesture that their neighborhood is working together to stop crime.

The free family safety events on August 6th  helps families to raise awareness of family safety, crime prevention and emergency preparedness.
