Northwood Community Park “Castle Park” in Irvine
Northwood Park aka. Castle Park in Irvine has been around since I was a kid, and it is still one of my all-time favorite parks to visit in Irvine. The park is massive, offering plenty of ultimate fun for every family who visits.
They call it “Castle Park” because the design of the park looks just like a castle. Inside of the castle walls are multiple play structures for every age of child. My kids could spend forever playing at this park and never get board. There are slides, climbing walls, and swings galore.
My favorite part are the clean bathrooms available inside of the community center, and the ample amount of parking.
The park does have shade coverings and trees, however, it does get very hot, very fast. I recommend bringing your kids with extra sunscreen and hats (along with plenty of water). There is a nice covered gazebo over picnic tables and barbecues for birthday parties, but it is close to the main street.
If your family likes playing tennis, then bring your ball and racket to play a game in the tennis court. If the tennis court is busy being used, there is a handball court! I recommend bringing plenty of balls and bikes for kids to ride around the park.
Before going to the park – make a thank you letter for a Veteran. There is a mailbox at the park where children can drop of letter of “thanks” to a Veteran or member of our military.
Get ready for an ultimate family fun day playing at the castle park in Irvine. It is located at 4531 Bryan Avenue in Irvine.
