The second half of my adventures at the Renaissance Club Sport during first week was more focused on all the amenities the place offers. They are more than a gym, I would say. There are lots of things that add up to a big bonus.

First there are the facilities besides the gym section – the locker room comes with steam room and hot sauna and Jacuzzi. Once you are done with those activities you can take a shower in one of the luxury showers and change.

After leaving the locker room, head over to the Citrus Express. They have approved meals, snacks, and smoothies for post work out refueling. All menu items are approved by the trainers and will provide you with the necessary energy.

Now, one thing I noticed while working out, there are quite a few families that come together for a workout session. Mind you, I go in at 5 AM!! But on the weekends, the place has lots of families coming in and working out. Parents with smaller children drop them off at the Kids center; it’s a nice and safe environment for the kids to hangout, play and interact with other kids while you and your spouse work out.

The Club also offers a lot of classes. Even at 5 AM there are group exercise events going on. They have classes from Cycles to Yoga and everything in between. One of the fullest schedules I have seen from local gyms.

And then there are the trainers that are available for your help, support and guidance. They are available at all times during the week and can provide you with roadmap when you start your new exercise program.

But wait! There is more! Working out is only part of the solution. Eating healthy and having better food habits is the other half. To this, Renaissance provides a great variety of programs around this topic. For example for Month of April there is a Fruit and Veggie challenge. The nutritionist at Renaissance helps you with eating more fruits and vegetables. You get a log to track your progress, weekly tips and tricks for success and easy recipes. The goal is that if you do something for 30 days it will become habit forming and once the challenge has been completed you will continue with the healthier eating options.

All of these activities only scratch the surface of what is offered at Renaissance and I hope to explore more of these amenities in the near future.

Oh and if you were wondering, after my first week at Renaissance I managed to lose one pound! I am now 19 pounds away from my goal.
