OC Rescue Mission Needs Thanksgiving Donations

OC Rescue Mission Food Donations

The Orange County Rescue Mission is preparing for the holiday season and is urgently seeking the community’s help to provide Thanksgiving meal items for the homeless families living at the Village of Hope, the Rescue Mission’s transitional living facility.

The organization is seeking over 840 pounds of turkey and ham, 800 pounds of vegetables, several desserts and more to provide a Thanksgiving to remember for formerly homeless men, women and children.

Several of the families who currently live at the Village of Hope have never experienced a traditional Thanksgiving meal, while others reminisce on the times when they were once able to gather around their own table to enjoy a festive meal.

The Orange County Rescue Mission is asking the local community to donate specific food items, including:

· 106 whole turkeys

· 48 whole hams

· 160 lbs of ground pork

· 200 lbs of potatoes

· 360 boxes of stuffing

· 80 lbs of cranberries

· 50 lbs of white sugar

· 110 bottles of maple syrup

· 90 containers of butter
