Oceanfront Dining at Vizcaino at Monterey Tides

I have been hearing a lot of buzz surrounding the cuisine being created at Vizcaino (previously Cafe Beach) at the Monterey Tides Resort. When planning a short weekend getaway to Monterey, I made reservations for us to have dinner at the highly acclaimed restaurant.

We made reservations to have dinner right at sunset, and it was the perfect timing to have dinner at Vizcaino. We took our seat right next to big glass windows that provided us with beautiful views of the crystalline waters. We ordered our drinks and got ready to embark on an unforgettable dining experience.

Our meal started by sharing the Queso Fundido. This dish is one of our favorites to have while in Mexico, and this dish had the same authentic flavors like the ones we enjoy while in Mexico. The dish features melted cheese, chorizo, Pico de gallo and freshly made tortilla chips.

There were so many delicious choices on the menu when it came to ordering our main dish, and it was the Pistachio Crusted Halibut that I couldn’t resist. The dish was light, fresh and I savored every last bite. It featured a passion fruit reduction and was paired to perfection with rice and asparagus.

While I was enjoying the seafood, it was the Mango Chicken Breast that tantalized my daughter’s taste buds. The chicken breast came topped with mango salsa and was paired with white rice and steamed vegetables.

Our evening ended by sharing the crème brûlée before returning to our room for the evening. We enjoyed dinner at Vizcaino so much that we returned in the morning for breakfast. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and the service was impeccable.

The breakfast menu was just as tantalizing as the dinner menu. It was the huevos rancheros that I couldn’t resist, and I devoured every delicious bite of the dish. The signature dish featured eggs, chorizo, avocado, cotija cheese, chipotle cream served over crispy tortillas – oh my!

Whenever my daughter sees avocado toast on a menu, she doesn’t want to order anything else. It is rare to see avocado toast on a restaurant menu, and it one of her favorite breakfast dishes. The dish featured three pieces of toast topped with mashed avocado, tomato, bacon and an egg. It was seasoned to perfection and was the perfect meal to start the day before exploring Monterey.
