Orange County Community Foundation ‘i Heart OC’ Giving Day

OCCF - Giving Day 2016 Facebook_FINAL-Cover

Today is the big day. The day in which families can show their appreciation to the many non-profits working hard every day to change the lives of those in our community. Once a year, the Orange County Community Foundation hosts a 30-hour giving period in which they encourage families to dig deep into their hearts, and give what they can to support some of the various nonprofits participating in the event. The i heart OC giving day has just begun, and the giving period will continue until noon on April 28th.

During last year’s event, our the community rose to the occasion, and there were 6,139 contributions totally more than $1.8 million for 347 participating nonprofits – let’s try and beat that this year! Without donations from the community, many of the participating nonprofits would not be able to do the work that they do to better our community.

From CASA training volunteers to work with foster children to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center rescuing injured sea animals, nonprofits like these are impacting the lives of so many people in Orange County.

I encourage everyone to please consider giving what you can in support of where your heart is in Orange County. There are over 415 participating nonprofits. The Orange County Community Foundation has made finding a nonprofit to support easy by dividing them into categories. Hurry, the #iheartoc giving period ends at noon on April 28th. Find a participating nonprofit to donate online, and help spread the word on social media by using the hashtag #iheartoc. Thank you for helping to support such an important day in our community.
