Orange County Events March 10th to March 16th


This week is full of fun Orange County events including a lot of St. Patrick’s Day events. It’s going to be another beautiful week in Orange County, so enjoy all of these fun events happening around town. Just a reminder that we are updating this list throughout the week, so make sure and check back daily!


Monday, March 10th

Toddler Story Time

Little ones up to age 3 and their caregivers are invited to come for a 30-minute program featuring songs, stories, rhymes and playtime starting at 10:00 a.m. in the El Toro Library Community Room.


Tuesday, March 11th

Pottery Barn Kids Story Time
All Pottery Barn Kids Locations

Children are invited to enjoy a special story time at your nearest Pottery Barn store at 11am. Children can get a free passport to collect stamps for every story time visit. After collecting five stamps, children will receive a special surprise. The event is free to the public.

Wednesday, March 12th

Story time, songs and music for babies and toddlers and their caregivers. Play time and socialization time following Baby Tales program. The event starts at 11:15 and is free to the public.

Breastfeeding Group

The breastfeeding support group at Granola Babies is an inviting, friendly and welcoming group for mothers and mothers-to-be. Children are welcomed and there’s a comfortable sofa for nursing. You’ll receive both education and breastfeeding support for a successful breastfeeding relationship with your child. The event is complimentary and starts at 1pm.


Thursday, March 13th

Tideland Tykes

At 10:30am, preserve staff for a fun-filled parent and child experience that may include arts and crafts, story telling, hands-on activities or outdoor nature walks. Come prepared for an exciting outdoor experience! The event is recommended for kids age 2-8. Cost is $5 per student and registration is required by calling 949-923-2275.

Friday, March 14th

Bower’s Museum

Storytelling morning at the Bower’s Museum from 10:30am to noon. Children ages 2-6 years old are encouraged to come with an adult to this fun event. The event includes playtime in Kidseum, and camera are encouraged to bring. The event is $10 per child (members), and $12 per child for non-members.

Saturday, March 15th

Feed the Homeless & Families in Need

Bring your family to this special community potluck to help do community service by feeding the homeless & families in need from 12pm to 3pm. They will also be hosting a clothing and food drive, so families are encouraged to bring what they to donate during the event.

Beach Cleanup

Bring your children to this fun beach clean-up. The founder of this organization is great with working with children, and families are welcome to attend. The clean-up will happen from 9am to 12pm, and families are encouraged to bring gloves and reusable bags to help with the clean-up.

Native American Festival

Bring your children to a festive Native American festival to learn about this beautiful culture. There will be dancing, singing, music, food and more. The event will take place from 1pm to 6pm.

The Fenian’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little early on Saturday, March 15th at The Coach House with Orange County’s most popular Irish band! Plan to get a sitter for the night, and have a festive Irish date night with music, spirits, fun and more at this incredible event. The celebration begins at 8pm, and tickets are $20 each at the door.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at the OC Zoo

The animals at the OC Zoo will be celebrating St. Patrick’s day early this year on Saturday, March 15th from 10am to 4pm, and they are inviting your children to come and join them! The animals will be munching on festive treats, and children can participate in a fun craft. During the event, the OC Zoo will be collecting donations of gently used blankets, towels, boxes, pet toys and perfume for the zoo. For each item donated guests will enjoy one free admission to the OC Zoo. If not bringing a donation item, admission is $2 per person, and children under the age of 2 are complimentary. Parking is $5 per vehicle.

Lakeshore Learning Free Craft Clinic

Children are invited to your closest Lakeshore Learning Store for a free craft clinic from 11am to 3pm. Lakeshore will provide all the supplies, and this week, children will be making a creative bookmark.

Families are invited to attend a free drawing event from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Children of all ages can express themselves through art at this fun family event.

Shamrock ‘N’ Roll

While not quite in Orange County, The Queen Mary, is just a short drive out of town for this fun Irish festival. Get a sitter and come celebrate on March 15th from 7pm to 1am with entertainment, fun and delicious food. The event is only for adults over the age of 21. Tickets are $15 online, ($20 at the door) and parking is $5 with event validation.


Sunday, March 16th

St. Patrick’s Day Wiener Dog Race & Craft Fair

Spend the afternoon with your family eating authentic Irish food and drinks. There will be crafts, entertainment and more from 11am to 5pm (dog races at 3pm).

for Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration & Green Fest

Bring your family to the “green” celebration happening at the OC Fair & Events Center on March 16th from 10am to 4pm. The event is focused on eco-friendly living with a wide variety of activities. At 1pm, there will be a haute trash fashion show featuring 25 outfits made from discarded items. Music, dancing and live entertainment will happen on the ACE Stage from 10am to 3pm. All activities, are included with swap meet general admission of $2. Guests who bring eyeglasses to donate to the Lion’s Club will receive complimentary admission.

Leprechaun Leap 5K Race

Run as fast as a leprechaun on Sunday, March 16th from 7am to 12pm for the Leprechaun Leap 5K race at The District in Tustin. Families, Strollers and even dogs are welcome at this fun family event!! Registration is at 6am, 5K starts at 7:30am, entertainment at 8am, and awards at 9am. Registration is $40 for adults, and $25 for children.

Kids Gardening Workshop

Families from throughout Orange County can expect their kids to come home with dirty hands after a day at one of the Orange County Great Park’s Children’s Gardening Workshops in 2014. The free monthly workshop series at the Great Park’s Farm + Food Lab provides hands-on gardening activities for children ages 3-to-9 from 11am to 1pm.

Families can have an interactive experience while learning about the 7 essential principles of ocean literacy at this free event. The event is weather permitting and will be from 10am to 2pm. Registration is not required.
