Orange County School of the Arts ‘OCSA’ Grants a Wish with The Make-A-Wish Foundation

As an Orange County School of the Arts, OCSA, student, I was honored to attend an event where my school granted a wish with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Being a student at OCSA, I got to go to the event. I watched Kaylin sing and dance on stage with a bunch of back up dancers/singers who were also students at OCSA.

About the Make-A-Wish Foundation

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is one of the best charities, and I love to see how they change lives. They change the lives of every child who has a life threatening disease, and make their wishes to come true.

The first thing I noticed upon arriving at the event was the red carpet. Kaylin would soon walk down it.

There were students lined up on the sides ready to take autographs, and pictures. Everyone wanted to make Kaylin feel like a real superstar. For example, there were fans holding posters and screaming her name as she arrived in her limo.

She walked inside with her entourage of fans behind her and went into the theater. The rest of the family members and students filled out the rest of the theater to watch Kaylin perform.

For example, the band began to sing a song. Then, Kaylin went into a fantastic dance break that had everybody on their feet.

Then Kaylin began to sing. She sang about five songs and each one was more heartwarming than the one before. In fact, she talked with band members and went to reach out and touch her fans hands.

There she shared her story as a patient in a hospital and had us all shedding tears when she sang her last song, “Fight Song.”

Make-A-Wish Foundation After Party

After the show, there was a friends and family after party that I had the honor of attending with Kaylin. There was food provided by the Culinary Arts and Hospitality conservatory at OCSA. Further, there was candy for the kids to enjoy.

I know some of the kid’s favorites were the face painting and balloon making that was in the corner of the party. Kaylin was signing autographs and taking pictures at a special booth. She felt like a real pop star with her friends and family.
