Studio’s Six-Course Valentine’s Dinner Created for Gourmet Lovers
Thursday, February 14

Chef Ben Martinek is serving heartfelt selections to delight couples who desire impeccably served, delicious food presented in a stunning Craftsman-style ocean view setting. The meal begins with an amuse-bouche of Shigoku Oyster on the Half Shell and next is Kampachi Crudo with romanesco, pearl onion, green strawberry, kaluga royal caviar and hearts of palm. Then Smoked Santa Barbara Red Abalone with forbidden black rice, cauliflower mushrooms and wasabi-english pea pearls is served. The third course is Roulade of California Petrale Sole accompanied by marinated white asparagus, dashi-poached turnips and hon shimeji followed by Alina Duck Breast with swiss chard, sunchoke, morel mushroom and hazelnut. Valentine’s Passion Served at The Loft

New Chef Joosung Lee at The Loft presents a four-course Valentine’s menu with amuse-bouche that can optionally be paired with wines. For amorous Valentines, the amuse is Loch Etive Steelhead Trout Tartare with kaluga caviar and garlic flowers and Cauliflower Flan with quince-tangerine marmalade and lemon thyme. The first course choice is Lime and Black Pepper-Marinated Local Strawberries with Rouelle Cendrée, mâche and orange-scented fennel or Roasted Parsnip Soup with citrus-poached lobster. Entrée options are Double R Ranch Filet Mignon with caramelized rutabaga, heirloom carrots, lemon-caper dressing and black garlic butter; Pan-Roasted Catalina Island Striped Bass accompanied by smoked eggplant-tahini purée, watercress-tarragon nage; and Okinawan Sweet Potato Gnocchi with kuri squash-brown butter purée and petite pea tendrils. The wonderful cheese course Alpine Blossom Cows’ Milk Cheese from Austria coated with a confetti of dried Alpine flowers follows. Desserts offered are Malibu Semifreddo with marshmallow and meringues, coconut and panna cotta and Chocolate Red Velvet Cake with raspberries and roses. Decadent Desserts Take Over The Lobby Lounge

To tempt the sweetest Valentines, Executive Pastry Chef Lee Smith’s creations will transform Montage’s Lobby Lounge into a decadent and even more romantic hot spot. A Viennese table will overflow with strawberry and Morello cherry macaroons, pink meringues, cherry brownie lollipops, strawberry crème brûlée, ivory chocolate sesame pot de crème and fresh fruit salad with prosecco. Pomegranate, rose and raspberry are selections from The Montage Cream Bun Collection, and from the resident chocolatier and The Montage Chocolate Collection come eclairs, chocolate chunk cookies, sea salt brownies and exotically flavorful housemade chocolate bonbons and truffles.

Guests will be greeted by cupid in the Windsor Salon upon arrival and ushered into the Grand Salon for their dinner seating. Once seated for dinner, the evening’s host will introduce the performers and accompanying love story, which will be interwoven throughout the dinner courses. The charming costumes and stunning ambiance of the Grand Salon will create the perfect romantic setting as the entertainment takes the stage. Dazzling performances will include burlesque dancers, tango performances, and a daring contortionist.

The four-course signature dinner menu offers a vine ripe tomato caprese salad to begin, an intermezzo champagne sorbet to clear the palate, a choice of asiago crusted organic chicken breast, pan roasted sea bass or grilled filet mignon for the main course and a cappuccino pot de crème for the dessert finale. Following the dinner and show, guests are welcome to stay aboard and enjoy cocktails and music at the bar in the Windsor Salon.

My Vintage Valentine offers two seating times, the first at 5:30 p.m. for $125 per person and second seating at 8:30 p.m. at $135 per person. The OC Great Park

The Orange County Great Park brings back its one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day celebration on Saturday, February 16, 4–6 p.m., at the Artist Studios.

Mix it up with your sweetheart at this special mixology class with Chef Sharon Murphy of One Fine Fig. Learn to make and sip three fun mocktail drink recipes with bite-size food pairings, then take a romantic ride on the Great Park Carousel.
