Pacific Marine Mammal Center Ocean Heroes After School Program

Do you have a child that is fascinated with the ocean and marine life? Look no further than Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC) to foster their interest in marine science!

PMMC is a marine mammal rescue, rehabilitation, research and education hub in Laguna Beach, California that offers a large amount of educational programming for all ages.

Ocean Heroes is an after school science program designed to  engage kids, ages 8-12 years of age, in marine science and conservation topics, animal observations, hands-on activities, games, crafts, and experiments. Over the course of the program your kiddo will learn about a diversity of marine mammals, the ecosystems in which they reside, and threats these animals currently face in the wild.

Enthusiastic instructors engage students  in innovative STEAM projects, help them explore solutions to environmental issues, and guide them to become ocean stewards! Kids also get the opportunity to observe PMMC’s current marine mammal patients, hear their stories, and learn what our hospital is doing to return them to health and restore them to the ocean.

Here is what parents are saying: ‘What a FABULOUS, highly informative, and relevant series of information for our children in today’s world! As a parent, I want my children to know more than just information, but also to learn material that is impactful and can help them to take care of our world and be a contributing and concerned citizen in the world in which they live! This is a responsibility we all need to embrace and appreciate!!’, ‘After the class, my daughter would spend an additional hour or two searching YouTube for more information. She then will tell anyone that would listen all about it! Incredible program for any child interested in the ocean and marine life. Thank you!!!’

Fall programming begins in October. Spaces are limited. Register at:
