Pavion Park in Mission Viejo
I had been hearing a lot of buzz over this local park in Mission Viejo. My husband and I decided to check it out with our toddler. When we pulled up there was plenty of street parking and it was shaded by the trees along the street. We got out of the car and from the minute we set foot on the playground my toddler was in heaven! The colorful cushioned rubber ground was really nice. It was decorated in a floral motif and had vivid colors all around. I liked this because sand is usually very messy and gets all over the place. If your child loves sand, have no fear they incorporated a little sand area with some fun sand scoopers built right in.
There is so much to see at this park. One of the things that really caught our eye was a big electronic game that your kids can play. You push a button for 1 or 2 players and then follow the lights. The game has sound too and my son loved it as did the other little park goers. Pavion park has added a lot of hands on electronic things all over the slide structures as well. Your children can push buttons to hear different animal sounds and learn facts. We had never seen a park with this. It was very entertaining.
This park is full of accessible areas for children with disabilities to enjoy. It was also very easy for us parents to run and play with our kids. There are a few different slide areas. One of the best was a giant treehouse that has 2 slides. My toddler went on the covered twisty slide over and over again. He also loved climbing up the leaves to get onto the slide structure. I loved that these were wide enough that my toddler could crawl up. For older children they will be able to climb up easily on these leaves.
If you have a climber they will love the big rock formation that they can climb and go under and also the treehouse that has different areas to climb. If swinging is your child’s thing, they will be happy to go on the 2 swing sets. They have 2 baby swings, 2 accessible swings and 2 regular swings. Another area that we loved was the maze. It is brightly colored and makes for a very fun game outdoors.
At Pavion park you can sit around and enjoy watching your kids play while lounging on many different seats and benches they have placed all around. This park makes for a great playdate location as it has so much to do for kids of all ages.
A few things to remember when you visit:
1.There’s no bathroom, so for littles bring a portable one or be ready to drive up the street to find the nearest bathroom.
2.The park can get crowded at times,as it backs to an elementary school.
3. Be ready to have to drag your child out of there ( just kidding) they will not want to go because of all the fun, so just be prepared.
4. Wear sunblock as the playground is not shaded, though the grass areas do have some trees.
