A Perfect 24 Hours in New York City

We visited as a guest of Kia

After having an eventful day at the New York Auto Show for the unveiling of the all-new 2019 Kia Optima and K900, I had an unforgettable 24 hours in New York City.

The perfect day in NYC started with a short walk from the Soho Grand Hotel to Jack’s Wife Freda for breakfast. The adorable cafe is located in the heart of lower Manhattan and has a fresh and healthy menu. There were so many delicious choices to choose from on the menu, making it hard to pick just one. While I can never normally resist a delicious benny, it was the poached eggs with grilled tomato and haloumi that tantalized my taste buds. The dish was light, refreshing and the perfect meal to start that day in NYC.

Raindrops were slowly falling from the sky as we caught a cab over to The Whitney Museum of American Art. New York has so many incredible museums to visit while in the city, and it was a first for me visiting The Whitney. The museum features seven floors where I found myself getting lost and in love with so many beautiful pieces of art. I could have spent all day in the museum, but only had time to explore two floors, and admire beautiful views of the city from the outdoor patio.

Since I was in the mood for something healthy, we made a quick stop at Juice Generation for an energizing drink. The healthy and refreshing drink was just what we needed to fuel a walk through Washington Square Park.

With so much buzz surrounding the cookie dough confections being served up at DŌ NYC, we couldn’t resist a stop for a sweet treat. It is cookie dough heaven at DŌ NYC where they are serving up scoops of freshly made cookie dough in either a cup or a cone. The dessert is packed with a large amount of sugar, so I recommend getting a scoop and sharing it with a friend or loved one.

While enjoying our dessert, we walked along the streets of NYC back to the Soho Grand Hotel to relax and refresh before a fun night out on the town.

There are so many incredible choices when it comes to having dinner in NYC, and it was NoMad where we decided to embark on an epicurean adventure. The elegant restaurant features Swiss-inspired cuisine finely crafted from the highly acclaimed Chef Daniel Humm. I sipped on a chilled glass of chardonnay while savoring every bite of Chef Daniel’s cuisine.

The day would not be complete without seeing a Broadway show. It was a tough choice to decide what show to see, and It was Summer: The Donna Summer Musical that caught our attention to see while in the city. The musical far exceeded my expectations. The cast put on an unforgettable performance complete with energizing music that had the audience singing along while dancing in their seats.

The evening was almost over, and before retreating to our hotel rooms for the evening, we made a quick stop at Ray’s Pizza for some late night bites. With every bite of the warm cheesy pizza, it brought back all my favorite memories from visiting NYC.

It was the perfect day in New York City and the perfect ending to our trip to NYC with Kia for the New York Auto Show.
