Picnic Beach in Laguna Beach

Picnic Beach is one of the most popular beaches to visit in Laguna Beach. It has the large Heisler Park just steps away where families can have picnic meals and features a long sandy beach. It is located right in-between Rockpile Beach and Divers Cove right in the heart of downtown Laguna Beach.

One of the best features of this beach is that there are nice clean bathrooms at the top of the ramp leading down to the beach. The waves are moderate at this beach and are perfect for kids who are looking for a beach to go boogie boarding. The only downside to this beach is that it gets crowded, although not as crowded as Main Beach or Aliso Creek Beach.

Where is it? It is located at the corner of Cliff Street and Jasmine Street in Laguna Beach. It is right next to the Las Brisas restaurant and right below Heisler Park. When taking the free Laguna Beach trolley to this beach, take the Heisler exit.

Parking is more of a challenge at this beach – especially during the weekends. I recommend coming early to find a close parking spot, and they are all metered (credit cards accepted).

When the tide is low, your family can climb the rocks over to Rockpile beach to explore the tidepools. If it is snorkeling that you desire, Divers Cove is just steps away.

Enjoy visiting this beautiful Laguna Beach this summer with your family.
