Pina Colada and Hemp Seed Smoothie Recipe
While spending the day on the beaches of Orange County, I started to daydream that I was in Hawaii. With that in mind I started singing, “If you like Pina Colada’s…” The kids got a kick out of me singing the song while splashing in the waves at the beach so I had to give them a hint of what a pina colada tastes like by making them a smoothie when we got home.
Why hemp seeds? I sneak them into almost everything that I made for the kids. They are virtually flavorless, and packed with more nutrition that I could ever want going into their little bodies. Now I am not going to lie, they are quite pricey. ($15 a pound at Whole Foods) I sneak them into their oatmeal, when making bread, and even their pasta sauce. (geez..you can even sneak them into a mix of mac n’ cheese)
The smoothie is delicious, and you will love it – your kids will too!
Pina Colada and Hemp Seed Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of coconut water
2 cups of fresh pineapple
1 banana
1/4 cup of shredded coconut
1/4 cup of hemp seeds
2 cups of ice cubes
