Mom’s R&R at Pinot’s Palette

We attended as a guest of Pinot’s Palette

For a span of 6 months, once a month my gal pals and I would set up a date to do something fun and relaxing.  At first it was wine night, then dinners but then we had to give up on those fun nights out because most of us at time or another were dieting.  I wanted to spend time with my ladies but didn’t want it to involve food or drinking so I was stumped.  It wasn’t until I stumbled upon (actually walked right by) Pinot’s Palette in Tustin that I found my solution, PAINTING!

Now I know what you are thinking, just because you know how to hold a paint brush and make a rainbow doesn’t mean you can actually paint.

Well actually you can. So here is how Pinot’s Palette works.  You go online to their website, you click on classes and voila before you is their monthly calendar.

Next step is to find a painting that interests you, click on it, add it to cart, pay and you are confirmed for your class.  Honestly that is the hardest part about the entire process.

Did I just hear you say “yeah right what about painting it”?   Well that’s the best part, painting it is a breeze.

I don’t care if have a degree in art or can’t draw a stick figure, you will be able to paint.  You arrive at the studio, check in, claim your seat, put your bag in their cubby so that you don’t get paint all over it, grab an apron maybe even a drink and you’re set.

The instructor then takes over and explains everything to you from how to blend colors, which brush to use as well as step by step strokes.

I enjoy going with at least one gal pal so that we can giggle and cheer each other one, but I have gone with more than 10 friends and it takes it to a whole other level of fun.

The unique thing about Pinot’s Palette, in comparison to their competitors, is that this is their own studio; they aren’t using a restaurant or other venue.

That being said Pinot’s Palette Tustin does offers a variety of wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase. They also sell a variety of frames to complete your masterpiece.

Providing public classes (the ones that you sign up for via their calendar) on top of private parties (you can rent out the entire venue and chose a painting for it), mobile off-site parties (they bring the party to your house and you can use them for kids parties), private art lessons as well as open studio days is such a rarity.

Make sure you check them out at or if you happen to be at the District in Tustin, walk on in and say hello.
