Planning to Purchase a Stroller

Planning to Purchase a Stroller? Here are Some Buying Tips

If you are planning on buying a stroller then you will know there is a lot to consider, such as safety, storage capabilities, weight, ease of use, branding, size, portability, and much more. It’s a big decision and so it can be quite overwhelming since you want to make sure you get it right. If you are looking to purchase a stroller then look no further.

Here are 5 tips for buying a stroller.

Safety

The most important component to consider when buying a stroller is its safety. If it does not meet the safety requirements then it is not worth putting your child at risk just to save a few dollars. The first thing to look for is a five-point safety harness, these are relatively common but they are the most secure contraption for keeping your baby safe. When it comes to buying baby strollers & accessories you should always check that there isn’t anything that might hurt your child, for example, any buckles that could pinch or buckles that release too easily.

Storage Capabilities

Buying a stroller with good storage is a game-changer for mums! The more storage space the better, as you will be carrying around a tonne of things that you probably didn’t even expect. If your stroller has a decent amount of storage under the seat you can use that space for nappies, muslins, spare clothes, water, food, nappies, and more!

Consider The Weight

One of the most important things to consider is the weight of a stroller, as this has the potential to make your life either very difficult or very easy. If you buy a lightweight stroller it will be easier for walking, carrying, and folding. The argument for heavier strollers is that they are meant to be more secure but it can be really hard trying to carry a heavy stroller up a pair of stairs in a train station or pushing it uphill on a road.

Easy To Use

There are a lot of highly sophisticated strollers with all sorts of features, however, often the more complex the features the harder it is to use these strollers. Once you have done your research and narrowed down a few options, it’s a good idea to go for a test drive in person, that way you can see how the strollers feel and compare. Don’t be afraid to try out multiple options as it’s important to see how each model holds up on uneven sidewalks, off-road paths, and so on. Pay attention to steering and braking, you should be able to steer smoothly and ideally maneuver it with one hand when necessary. Similarly, when testing the breaks you should see how easy it is to break and how sturdy the breaks actually are. Your stroller is important to your baby but it is also important to you as you are the one who will be pushing it and transporting it around.

Make Sure It Has The Features You Want

During your stroller research, you will have likely come across plenty of potential features. There are some features that are essential and others that act as a bonus. So if your budget allows for the more expensive features then great, but if not then do not worry. One of the main features you should look for is a washable fabric because it is inevitably going to get messy. With all the food, snot, crumbs, and other bodily fluids, your baby will produce you are going to have to wash the fabric a few times. So make sure you buy a model that has an easy-to-wash fabric that will not wear out after a few washes.

Another feature you will want is a sun canopy, this might not sound essential but they do more than just protect your baby from the sun – which is very important already! They also protect your babies from rain, debris from the road and they will protect your baby’s eyes from bright lights. A third and final feature that you have to think about is the quality of the wheels on your stroller. If the wheels are flimsy then they are likely to break on uneven terrain and they won’t last many miles even if they don’t break right away. So always be sure to check out the wheels and see how well they cope on different terrains before committing.

So, if you are planning to purchase a stroller make sure you consider these 5 tips, that way you will be sure to get the perfect stroller for you and your child.
