Pretend City Holiday Fun

We visited as a guest of the venue

Pretend City Children’s Museum has a Christmas countdown going on. Each day they will “unwrap” a holiday activity for you and your family to enjoy. Each of these days has a Storytime with a new book read each day.

My family and I went to check this Christmas countdown out. All I can say is… What a treat! Everything in Pretend City is lit up and decorated beautifully. You really feel the holiday magic when you step inside.

On our visit Pretend City Children’s Museum went all out for us and had a great pancake breakfast with Santa. We got to enjoy this event with a few other families, and it really made my kiddos feel special. I mean what kid would not love a private breakfast with Santa?

After we ate our breakfast, the families were able to take photos with Santa. My 11-month-old Daughter was a bit scared, but Santa was so kind. He really tried to make her happy. My Son, on the other hand, was in heaven! The smiles he had the whole time were priceless.

After our photos, we all got to make a gingerbread craft ornament and then interact and play with the exhibits.

The second you see the Pretend City entry arch going in, you know you are in for a huge treat. The sights and scents that greet you are amazing.

My family Celebrates both Chanukah and Christmas, so for my 5-year-old, it was very exciting for him to see a giant Menorah lit up for all to enjoy, right as we stepped inside. He made sure to get a picture taken with it.

On the exhibits, everything is decorated for the holidays. You will see nutcrackers, snowmen, inflatables, and lights all around.

The exhibit we enjoyed the most on this visit was the beautifully decorated gingerbread house. Inside they had Microwave Gingerbread Playdough to decorate and take home. It made the whole area smell awesome!

The whole time we were walking around and playing Santa was walking around and taking photos with kids. It was great to see all the happy kids wandering around. They loved all the interaction with Santa. It was really a fun time.

It was my Daughters first time at Pretend City Children’s Museum, and she enjoyed all the hands-on interaction with all the exhibits. The stage is what made her light up. She loved playing with all the instruments and being under the lights. My son also loved this area, but his favorite place was in the Police Station. For the past six months, he has been all about any and everything Police related. He could not contain his excitement when he saw the dress up area. He got all into costume and even arrested his baby sister and Daddy. He would have played there for hours if we let him, but we had to end our visit soon, so we went to the other exhibits.

On our visit, we noticed that the staff was extra attentive. They were all so happy and ready to spread cheer to everyone around them. They were also very helpful. They took pictures of my family which was nice because it is not often I get in pictures with my family. I am usually behind the camera.

Pretend City is such a great place to take your children. If you would like to learn more about their upcoming events, you can visit their website at

We had a great time and were sad when it ended, but we know we will be back soon to play and make more memories.

Thank you Pretend City Children’s Museum. You did a beautiful job capturing the holiday spirit and sharing it will all who enter your doors.
