Relaxing Family Desert Escape to the Miramonte Resort & Spa

We stayed as a guest of the resort

Most families seeking a family desert vacation make their travel decisions based on the pool. Does it have a lazy river? Waterfall? Swim-up pool bar? But, the one thing that most families don’t put into consideration is that every other family is doing the same thing. The result is always crowded pools and the impossible mission of trying to find a pool chair (with shade).

After being on a 10-day family road trip along the Southern California coastline, I was in the mood for some relaxation without the stressful crowds in the Palm Springs area. So, we planned a weekend at the Miramonte Resort & Spa.

When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by friendly staff members in a Tuscan “Italian” style lobby. We were immediately impressed with the cleanliness and beautiful decor of the property. Similar to other properties we have stayed at in Palm Springs, we were able to pull our car close to the building where our room was located and unloaded all our suitcases with ease.

From the moment we opened the door to our room, we felt an overwhelming sense of peace come over us. The luxe room was spacious, beautifully designed, and made our family feel at home. We immediately began to enjoy the outdoors from our private balcony overlooking the lush tropical landscape of the resort.

While I relaxed on the outdoor patio, my husband took the kids to cool down in the pool. Even though this pool did not have any water slides or a lazy river, it had something that I loved better – no crowds! My children were able to swim in the pool, and we were able to find a chair within minutes.

After having an evening swim, we all cuddled up in the cozy beds, and the kids fell fast asleep while I read them a bedtime story. Our family woke up refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated. We got ready to spend the entire day by the pool snacking on tasty poolside food was slashing around in the crystalline water. It was a memorable day spent together creating memories that will last a lifetime while strengthening our family bond. We ended the day with dinner at the onsite restaurant before retreating to our room for the evening.

Before leaving the Miramonte Resort & Spa, my husband took the kids to the pool while I reconnected with my mind, body and soul at the spa. The spa features a secluded saltwater jacuzzi, steam room, and comfortable chairs. It was the perfect way to end our weekend, and I returned home feeling like a new mom.
