San Diego Air and Space Museum at Balboa Park
San Diego is home to some of the most amazing museums with most of them centrally located in Balboa Park. When planning a weekend getaway to San Diego, we spent most of our time at museums, and the San Diego Air and Space Museum was one of our kid’s favorites. The museum is full of large scale plane models, artifacts, educational experiences and more.
Parking is always a challenge in Balboa Park, but they have multiple parking lots located throughout the park. Getting around the large park is easy for families with the complimentary tram that runs every 10 minutes. The tram takes families from the parking lots to the museum or the restaurant of their choice.
Once your family arrives at the museum, your children can spend hours learning about space and planes. They can climb into a helicopter, watch informational videos and see the inside workings of many different planes. It is an immersive educational experience that your kids will remember forever.
Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just a day trip to San Diego, the Air and Space Museum is a place that your family is guaranteed to have a special time together.
