Seasonal Fare at The Patio on 101 in Encinitas

We dined at The Patio on 101 as a guest of the San Diego Restaurant Week

San Diego is well-known for having some of the best restaurants in California. Every year during the San Diego Restaurant Week, I head down south to try a new restaurant. This year, I brought my daughter to try The Patio on 101 in Encinitas.

During San Diego Restaurant week, they have a 3-course dinner menu for $40. Plus, there is the option of adding two full glasses of wine for $20.

Small Cheese and Charcuterie Board

I started my dinner by having their small cheese and charcuterie board. The appetizer featured a chef’s choice of meats and cheese. Also, it came with an assortment of bread and accouterments. It was light, fresh and the perfect start to my meal.

Ahi Poke Tacos

It was the ahi poke tacos that tantalized my daughter’s taste buds. Inside of a crispy wonton shell is napa cabbage, cucumber salad, and fresh ahi. The appetizer is complete with a light soy marinade. My daughter enjoyed every bite and mentioned that it was some of the freshest ahi she has had.

Half Chicken

For the main course, my daughter selected the half chicken. The presentation was beautiful. The chicken arrived at the table in a decorative pan. In addition, there was parmesan rosemary potatoes, lemon, and arugula. Not only was the dish beautifully presented, but the flavors were also incredible.

Steelhead Trout

The server recommended I try the steelhead trout, and I was so glad that he did. The trout practically melted in my mouth. It is paired with a poblano puree, kale, sweet potato, butternut squash, apple gastrique, and cilantro. It is amazing!

The Twisted Elvis

The dinner was made complete with the twisted Elvis dessert. It is house-made banana bread. Also, it comes topped with a peanut butter mousse, bruleed banana, vanilla ice cream, and foster sauce. Oh my! It is a must when eating at The Patio on 101.

Pumpkin Cheesecake

Another tasty dessert is the pumpkin cheesecake. It comes topped with whipped cream, eggnog anglaise and pepita brittle. I guarantee that you can’t just eat one bite.

San Diego Restaurant Week is in full effect, and the perfect time to dine at The Patio on 101.
