Shop Dine Flourish at Village at La Floresta

We visited as a guest of the venue

Since our family lives a green lifestyle, Earth Day is one of my holidays to celebrate with my children. On Earth Day this year, we started our morning with a bike ride around Irvine and then went to the Earth Day celebration at the Village at La Floresta in Brea. I hadn’t been to the new community since the early stages of the build-out, and at the time there were only a couple of stores open.

When we arrived at the shopping community, it had flourished into a beautiful center with multiple dining and shopping experiences. The Earth Day celebration was one to remember forever complete with fashion shows, music, fitness exhibitions, cooking demonstrations, kid-friendly activities, and more. One of the highlights of the entertainment during the festival was a performance by Adam Lasher from American Idol season 14 and 15.

Our family spent time enjoying the festivities and then had a progressive lunch so we could have a little taste of what the different restaurants are serving.

Our dining experience started at Whole Foods Market where we sampled a bite from almost every dish on their menu. The cauliflower nachos were my favorite and a dish and I guarantee that you can’t just have one bite. I was also impressed with the quality of their sushi. I can’t wait to come back to Whole Foods to sample more of their sushi.

Next, we were off to Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern where we got a taste of their poke. Jimmy’s has always been a family favorite dining destination, and a great choice to dine with the kids when visiting La Floresta.

Then we got our first taste of Urban Plates. I was so excited to see that they had a location in La Floresta because I have been anxiously waiting for their opening in my home town of Aliso Viejo. We sampled some of their salads, plates, and desserts. I loved everything that I had at Urban Plates, and you’ll find me at the Aliso Viejo location on a regular basis once their open their doors.

We didn’t think that we could eat another bite but made room to have a taste at Slapfish. Since it was Earth Day, and Slapfish serves dishes featuring sustainable seafood, we had to make a quick stop at their restaurant. The kids had lobster grilled cheese and lobster taquitos. Everything at Slapfish is always fantastic, and you’ll always have a memorable dining experience at any of their locations.

The Village at La Floresta also has Mendocino Farms, Reborn Café and Capital Noodle for dining options along with many retail stores. If your family lives in North Orange County, The Village at La Floresta is a great place for your family to shop, dine, and flourish. The Village at La Floresta is located at 3301 E Imperial Hwy, Brea, CA 92823.
