What happens when you sit comedians Jason Sudeikis (“We’re the Millers”, “Horrible Bosses”), Josh Gad (“Frozen”, “The Book of Mormon”), Danny McBride (“Despicable Me”, “Tropic Thunder”) and Bill Hader (“Saturday Night Live”, “Inside Out”) down together for a sneak peek screening of their “The Angry Birds Movie” and a Q & A led by Producer, John Cohen (“Despicable Me”)? A lot of laughs that’s what. And presumably with the comedic chops of the cast, Directors Fergal Reilly “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs”) and Clay Katis (“Frozen” animator) and writer, Jon Vitti (“The Simpsons”, “King of the Hill”) there will also be plenty of laughs in the movie as well set to open in May.

With over 3 billion downloads, it’s safe to say most anyone with a cell phone has at least heard of the game “Angry Birds” by Rovio. Kids and adults alike seem to love it. So “Why”, you may ask, “are these birds so angry?” Having never even played the game myself, I think I may have wondered that in passing too.

Learning about Angry Birds from the Cast

Turns out evil green piggies have invaded their island under false pretenses and Angry Bird, Red (Jason Sudeikis) knows for sure that they are up to no good. He and his fellow Angry Birds, enlist the help of The Mighty Eagle, voiced by Peter Dinklage, for you “Game of Thrones” fans out there. The colorful and adorable cast of flightless Angry Birds must unite to save their island from these gluttonous pigs.

Inside Scoop into Angry Birds the movie

There were more than a few laughs and quite a few clever details in the previews we saw that bring Bird Island to life. The town has all things that make an island inhabited by flightless birds livable, such as a Day Care Center strategically placed next to their island’s Birds and Bees Fertility Clinic as well as an open air Nap Bar right in town. Also it should be said, if you ever find yourself on Mighty Eagle’s lake, whatever you do, do not drink the water. Yes there is a little potty humor in the movie.

There should be something for young at heart adults who like their humor on the silly side, as well as teens and tweens, whether you’ve played the game or not. The film has not yet been rated, so for parents of young children, you’ll want to check before racing off to your theaters when it opens.
