I had the opportunity to attend a Barre3 workout with the owners of the new studio and I am so excited for this studio to open! When I walked in I immediately felt like I was with a group of my best girl friends. Nicki, Jessica, and Charmaine are the sweetest gals – so helpful, so friendly, and obviously excited about the studio’s grand opening.

Right at the front of the studio is their retail store where you can purchase Barre3 merchandise. They have everything you could possibly want including water bottles, tote bags, tank tops and Barre3 core balls so you can work out at home too. Located just across from the reception desk is the child care area. During opening week child care is free also during your class! Isn’t this the most adorable play area? I know my little guy will have fun hanging out here while I workout.

The studio itself is nicely appointed with a wall of floor-to-ceiling mirrors, barre along all 4 walls to accommodate up to 25 class participants. Balls, weights, and mats are supplied so when you come to work out all you need is to come in yoga-type clothing and bring a water bottle.

Now, as for the workout – I only have one word: Amazing! Ok, I have a few more words, but it is an amazing workout. I truly think I’ve found my new favorite workout routine. If you have followed my posts, you know that I’m a runner. I LOVE to run and I have been working hard over the past year to get in shape. In the last 14 months I have logged over 925 miles. But, I need another workout to balance out my fitness program. I was looking for something that would help strengthen my core and complement the workout I get with running. I think I found the perfect fit with Barre3. If you aren’t familiar with barre workouts different “brands” may do things differently, but it is a combination of ballet barre, yoga, and Pilates moves.

Charmaine led our Barre3 workout the other day and she is this beautiful, sweet gal who knows how to make your muscles burn and shake! While most of the movements are small – they are designed to work deep muscles and when you repeat those small movements about 50 times in a row – your muscles start to burn and shake, literally! But everyone is shaking along with you and feeling the burn. One of the great things about this workout is that while I was sweating and shaking and basically doing squats on my toes, the time flew by. It didn’t feel like an hour-long workout I was having so much fun. When I left I wasn’t worn out and sore like I can be after some types of workouts – a definite plus for us busy moms who need to have enough energy to keep up with our kids!

If you have ever wanted to try a barre workout, or if you have been doing barre for years – make sure you check out the new Barre3 studio in Laguna Niguel – you will love it!
