Stuck at home? Help UCI Researchers Cure Diseases

During this time of uncertainty, communities, businesses and families are being impacted like never before. People are also coming together to help others in unprecedented ways.

Tips for a healthy mind

And while we all are spending more and more time at home, many of us are looking for ways to strengthen our communities while maintaining the current health and safety recommendations from the CDC.

I’d like to invite you and your families to make a real difference without leaving your home or opening your wallet.

I’m an OC Mom and researcher at UCI MIND. We are seeking volunteers to sign up for our “Consent-to-Contact” (C2C) Registry, a recruitment registry that helps match adults in Orange County with research studies at UCI.

Signing up for this registry can have an even bigger impact than making a financial donation. Potentially life-saving research is often stalled because we cannot find enough participants for studies. Some of our studies are even conducted completely remotely, allowing our researchers to make progress during these challenging times.

By signing up for the registry, you are not committing to participate in any specific study and are under no future obligation to do so. You are merely giving us permission to contact you if you are found to be a potential match for a research project.

You could ultimately help lead to the cure or prevention of serious health conditions, such as COVID-19, Alzheimer’s disease, or cancer. Signing up is completely voluntary, safe and confidential and only takes 15-20 minutes.

For more information or to sign up for the C2C Registry, visit www.C2C.uci.edu.

About the University of California Consent to Contact Registry

The UCI Consent to Contact Registry (UCI C2C) is run by Dr. Joshua Grill, Director of the UC Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND) The C2C Registry was designed to notify persons interested in research about studies at UCI and other research institutions. Participation takes about 10-20 minutes of your time and involves completing an online questionnaire with information about you, like your age and some health information. To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years old. While there are no personal benefits to joining the Registry, by participating you may help to advance knowledge and understanding and progress the field toward improved care or cures.

Joining the C2C Registry is voluntary. You do not have to join and you can stop participating at any time. To discuss the registry with a member of the research team, please call 949.824.9475 or Contact Us online. Learn more about UCI mind on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
