Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch
It has been a couple of years since bringing my kids to the Tanaka Farms pumpkin patch. When my kids had their early day out of school, we headed over to Irvine to see what was new at Tanaka Farms this year. We pulled into the dirt parking lot and got ready for an amazing afternoon of fun at this special gem of Orange County.
When we first arrived, we were greeted by the sweetest people who helped us to select what we were going to purchase tickets to do. They now charge an admission fee, plus fees for all the activities except the corn maze. I decided to go with the admission and tractor ride…coming out to $28 for the three kids and me.
Having spent a good amount of money for a tractor ride + admission, I was determined to get the most out of the afternoon. We started with the tractor ride that took us all around the farm. My kids got a chance to see all the veggies that they are growing on the farm (and on weekends they offer a pumpkin launch for an additional fee). The ride took about 10 minutes, and my kids enjoyed riding through the sugar cane lane the most.
Once we got off the tractor ride, we skipped the petting zoo (due to a hay allergy that my son has) and headed into the corn maze. My kids were kept busy running through the maze for at least an hour – coming home nice and tired for me…hooray!
There was vegetable picking available for an additional fee, but we decided to explore the pumpkin patch. My kids spent forever picking out the “perfect” pumpkin for us to take home. While they were searching around the pumpkin patch, I was snapping some memorable fun photos that I’ll treasure forever.
Our favorite thing at Tanaka Farms was the unique scarecrows! My kids loved looking at all the different creative scarecrow creations and got some fun ideas to try and make one at home.
I ended the day by giving my kids a couple of rides around the pumpkin patch in a wheelbarrow before purchasing our pumpkin to bring home. Overall, Tanaka Farms is a special place to bring your children this month. You’ll create memories that will last a lifetime, and capture some of the most beautiful pictures ever. I highly recommend planning a visit with your family this month, and get the most out of your day by coming early, and staying late. Tanaka Farms is located at 5380 University Dr, Irvine, CA 92612.
